What is Tundish Monoblock Stopper?

Tundish Monoblock Stopper is one of the most important control elements in the continuous casting production process.It is installed in the tundish and cooperates with the built-in immersion nozzle or tundish upper nozzle to control molten steel from the tundish to the crystallizer in the continuous casting process .

Monoblock stopper is one of the important steel flow regulation components, stoppers are designed to cope with the extreme thermal shock lining when regulating the molten steel flowing into the mould. The head of our Monoblock stoppers is specially engineered to withstand erosion by molten steel. The slagline is also strong enough to withstand possible chemical corrosion caused by tundish immersion. we apply different mixtures of aluminia or magnesia to the head of our stoppers to enabling them to cast various types of steel.

What is the types of Monoblock Stopper?

According to quality of materials, monoblock stopper of our company can be classified into alumina carbon, aluminum-zirconium carbon and aluminum-magnesia carbon. Monoblock Stopper is used mainly for flow control on Molten Steel poured from tundish to mould. Monolithic Stopper is installed in the Tundish above the Sub Entry Nozzle and the gap between stopper head and Nozzle decide the throughput requirement of Molten Steel inside the Mould.

Monoblock Stopper Functions:

Mono-block stopper is mainly used for the tundish, which performs a switching function. The steel flow is controlled by the position of the head of mono-block stopper to tundish.

Meantime, the argon hole can be blown through the argon hole of the integral plug to prevent the nozzle from being clogged. There are several advantages by using the mono-block stopper:

1. Safer.
2. Reduce the nozzle blockage accident.
3. After the argon is blown by the stopper rod, the total amount of inclusions in the slab is greatly reduced, and the quality of the slab is improved.
4. As the accident rate decreases, the output of continuous casting machines is relatively increased.
